Series Content that brings customers from search Part 8 of 8

Where AI helps with writing, and where it must not

AI is quick at structure and phrasing. Facts, measurements and lived experience have to come from you — and turning that boundary into a procedure buys speed without spending trust.

For a founder with no time, AI is an appealing offer. It is also surrounded by contradictory advice — “AI writing is penalised in search” alongside “just generate at scale” — which makes it hard to know what to believe.

To be plain about our own position: this site publishes AI-assisted articles too. Only ones that clear a review gate go out. So this part is not an argument against AI; it is an argument about where the line sits.

What can be delegated, and what cannot

The boundary is about sourcing, not about prose — facts have to originate with a person

The distinction matters for a simple reason. AI is extremely good at producing plausible sentences, and plausibility is independent of truth. Settings screens that do not exist, menu names that do not match, figures nobody measured — all arrive wrapped in perfectly natural prose.

And readers act on it. Follow your instructions, find no such menu, and what they stop trusting is not the article but your company.

The order that actually works

The useful pattern is not “give it a topic, receive an article”. It is the human supplying the raw material and the model doing the arranging.

Using AI in order — a person supplies the material at the front and guards the gate at the end

Gathering material is yours: notes on questions customers asked, procedures you have actually run, the criteria you use. The skeleton goes faster with the model — ask for several subheading options and choose. The draft comes from that material and that skeleton. The review is always human.

What the review checks

Here is the standard we apply to our own content, unchanged. Is there primary material? Something you experienced or measured has to be in the article. Without it the piece is a recombination of public information, and search engines already hold that.

Do the facts check out? Walk through the screens, menus and steps yourself. Is every number sourced? Delete anything unmeasured. Do the links resolve? Open them. Does it sound like us? Watch for superlatives you would never use in a conversation.

Fail any of the five and it does not publish. Unreviewed automated publishing is dangerous not because of search rules but because a drop in quality is evidence against the thing you are selling.

Spend it on time, not on volume

Using AI to publish ten times as much is a poor trade for most founders. Review load scales with output, review is what gets skipped first, and from there you end up with near-identical articles splitting each other’s ranking.

The better use is the opposite. Keep the volume and reduce the time each article costs. When the skeleton and draft stages from the previous part get shorter, spend the recovered time on gathering material and reviewing — the two stages that create the value.

Closing the series

Across eight parts you have chosen topics, planned ten articles, built a skeleton, joined them with links, established a rhythm, read the metrics, updated old posts and drawn a line around AI. All of it is designed to run alone, on very little time.

What remains is whether the site itself can carry the writing. Even excellent articles do not work on a site that is slow or not indexed. More on AI and content automation sits in the AI archive; getting speed, security and search visibility sorted in one pass is what our optimization program is for. How we work, and what we measure before and after, is published in full on the process page.
